Amazon adding Brick & Motar Stores- What’s this mean for us………..Investing in Rhode Island

Speculation, aside, Amazon is clearly now expanding its brick-and-mortar footprint. Ironic, considering the online retailer is largely credited with fueling a major crisis in brick-and-mortar bookselling, including the collapse of national retailer Borders Books and Music.

New York city was the 1st such store with San Diego coming up 2nd now Seattle.

The New York City Location Handled Same-Day-Delivery Inventory, Product Returns.

Physical locations could be a good deal for some customers. Last year, Amazon raised its 
Amazon Prime membership to $99 in annual payments from $79, so customers have had to 
pay more for two-day shipping, video streaming and access to e-books. In 2013, 
Amazon raised the required minimum purchase for free shipping to $35 from $25.
